Who can register a .AO domain through ExpanTLD?
Any individual or legal entity can register a .AO domain, provided it is available upon search. During the ‘Sunrise’ period, preference is given to those who can prove legitimate ownership of trademarks or business names related to the requested domain.
How can I pay for my domain registration or renewal?
Payments can be made in multiple currencies via major credit cards, PayPal, Multicaixa, or SEPA bank transfer to ExpanTLD’s IBAN. These options offer flexibility and convenience for all customers.
What happens if I don’t renew my domain on time?
If a domain is not renewed before its expiration, it may be placed back on the market and made available for others to purchase. Renewal notices are sent as a courtesy, but it is the domain owner's responsibility to keep track of expiration dates.
How long does it take for my domain registration to become permanent?
Elligible domain registrations become permanent immediately after payment. In the 96 hours after registration we check that there are no conflicts registered trademarks, or prohibited content. During this period, in special cases, a panel of experts may review the registration and contact you.
Can I transfer my .AO domain to another owner?
Yes, domain ownership can be transferred through the Registrar’s platform. You will need to follow the procedures outlined by ExpanTLD, which includes verifying the new owner's eligibility and updating the domain information.
Are there any restrictions on the content or names I can register for my .AO domain?
Yes, domain names that conflict with national interests, are identical to existing trademarks without permission, contain pejorative meanings, or are not used to promote the information society in Angola are subject to rejection.
What should I do if my domain registration is not validated?
If your registration is not validated due to reasons unrelated to ExpanTLD, such as technical issues, you will be contacted for a refund, and the domain will be removed from the available search results for other customers.
How can I update my domain information or make changes to my registration?
You can self-update your domain information, renew your domain, or request a transfer through the MyConsole app in ExpanTLD.com. ExpanTLD provides the necessary technical support to facilitate these changes.
What should authorized resellers and Registrars do when domain prices change?
Authorized resellers and Registrars must update the pricing on their online stores promptly to reflect the new rates. They should also communicate these changes to their clients as an opportunity rather than focusing on the price adjustments.
How does ExpanTLD handle my personal data during domain registration?
ExpanTLD treats all personal data with confidentiality and in compliance with data protection laws. Your data is used exclusively for domain management purposes, and you have the right to access and correct your data at any time.
What are the prices for registration / renewal / transfer / other services?
As of 1st September these are the service prices at expantld.com:
  • domain recovery support is free of charge until 30th September 2024.
  • 120 Euro for registration of domains in the following zones: .AO, .CO.AO, .IT.AO, .ORG.AO and .IT.AO
  • Exception: 500 Euro for 3 letter domains in the following zones: .AO and .CO.AO, renewals in following years 120 Euro
  • Exception: 2 letter domains in the following zones: .AO and .CO.AO are only available by inquiry

How can I update the NAMESERVERS associated to a domain?
Nameserver update for a registered domain is only possible if the domain is registered and in good standing. 
  1. Open the 'Owner / Contact Profiles' option in your MyConsole and create a Technical Administrator contact if you haven't yet done so.
  2. Open the 'DNS Server' option in you MyConsole and fill in the fields including the Technical Contact.
  3. Open your 'Account Assets' view and update your nameservers for that domain.
How do I download my INVOICE?
If you don't have your Account Info filled in with VAT and invoice details:
  • Go to the Acount Info option in MyConsole and Update your details.
To obtain your invoice for a specific order: 
  1. open the Orders page in MyConsole
  2. click on the Details button of the Order you wish to download an Invoice for
  3. press Invoice button do download your invoice
